Another player who accomplished the record in 2016 was Samit Gohel from Gujarat. He played a knock of 359 runs against Odisha.

Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw has set a new record for the highest individual score by an opener in Ranji Trophy. Batting against Assam, Shaw smacked a 379-run knock and helped his team win by an innings.
