Gujarat Titans have shocked the world. The Ahmedabad-based franchise have reportedly decided to trade their captain Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League season. Pandya joined GT as their skipper in 2022.

Under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, the Gujarat Titans won the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. And then in 2023, the Titans made it to the finals, where they narrowly lost to the Chennai Super Kings. Now, Hardik is all set to leave for MI for 15 crore + an undisclosed amount.

GT have made huge profits with this deal, and it seems unlikely that this trade will negatively affect them because of the squad they have. Here are three other teams who can think of doing the same soon.

    1. Lucknow Super Giants can think of making a decision like Gujarat Titans

Lucknow Super Giants also joined the IPL in the year 2022. They appointed KL Rahul as the captain, but they had to shell out 17 crore for it. Rahul has done a decent job as skipper, but LSG have not won the title yet.

With the likes of Quinton de Kock, Kyle Mayers and now even Devdutt Padikkal present in the squad, LSG can take the risk of releasing Rahul and freeing up 17 crore.

    2. Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals must hit the reboot button after the disastrous season they had in 2023. Rishabh Pant should be back for 2024 IPL, but their 2023 IPL skipper David Warner could get released. DC have a talented bunch of Indian players. Warner can be traded for a hefty amount.

    3. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad also had a forgettable season in 2023. The Hyderabad-based franchise are known for making hasty decisions, which negatively impacts the team balance. Aiden Markram did not impress much as the team’s captain, which is why he may get traded.
