As per reports, Jasprit Bumrah’s participation in the group stages of the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy is doubtful. Here, we take a look at the list of three pacers who could get a chance if Jasprit Bumrah misses the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy.
It is a big blow for Team India. Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh will be a part of the pace attack. One other pacer will now get a chance in Bumrah’s absence.
1) Prasidh Krishna
It was Prasidh Krishna who served as the backup for the pace attack in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Now that he is back to full fitness, he is likely to get one more chance. His form has also been decent in recent months. A lot will depend on how well he does in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Karnataka. If he does well, there is a very good chance of him being on the flight to the UAE.
2) Harshit Rana could play if Jasprit Bumrah misses the Champions Trophy
Harshit Rana is one of the pacers who could get a chance if Jasprit Bumrah misses the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy. It is well-known that Gautam Gambhir is a big fan of Harshit Rana. If he gets selected for the England ODI series, surely, he will be in the race to play the Champions Trophy, as well. He could also be an option because he can be a good batter at No.8, although he is yet to prove it so far.
3) Mukesh Kumar
Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar might fight for the third spot on this list. However, Mukesh could be a better fit because he can add more value in all the phases of the game. Avesh can do that, as well, but Mukesh offers better control. Therefore, the West Bengal pacer is on this list.
