Interestingly, most of the bets that CSK took at the auctions came off during the tournament. The fans will be interested to know who are the signings CSK could make in this way at the upcoming bidding event.
1) Umesh Yadav
The ‘Impact Player’ rule has allowed phase specialists like Umesh Yadav to extend their importance to an IPL franchise. Players like him could create an impact during their preferred phase and the franchise can afford to not have them operate at the other phases. Therefore, Umesh Yadav could be in demand. CSK will need a backup for Deepak Chahar and possibly an experienced partner for him. Umesh ticks the boxes and hence, he could be a fit.
2) Aman Khan
Aman Khan is one of the players CSK could surprisingly target in IPL 2024 Auctions. Although he showed flashes of his skills last season, Aman Khan was still released by Delhi Capitals. CSK likes such types of bowlers who can contribute in both the departments of the game. Aman is decent with the ball and is a power-hitter with the bat. He can be groomed to become someone like Shivam Dube in the future. Hence, he is an interesting pick for the team.
3) Karun Nair
It will be an interesting subplot to see whom CSK could replace Ambati Rayudu with. While everyone is talking about Shahrukh Khan, recently, R Ashwin mentioned the name of Karun Nair. It actually makes sense. He is quite experienced and is good against spin. Karun can actually take up a role at No.4, which Shahrukh Khan cannot. These factors could help him land a contract with CSK.
