Joburg Super Kings will be desperate to go all the way in the next cycle of the SA20 T20 League. On September 9th, there is a Mega Auction scheduled for the tournament. Here, we take a look at the list of three players JSK might target in the SA20 2026 Auctions.
Having retained the likes of Faf du Plessis and other quality players, JSK will want to further enhance the quality of the squad. The focus could be on the young players available on the day of the bidding event.
1) Dewald Brevis
It is a no-brainer, really! Dewald Brevis might have skipped the retention by MI Cape Town to join JSK. Already, the owners have seen his impact at CSK. Now, with the franchise needing a new star in the middle order, they could splash the cash to hire the youngster. He would also be the future captaincy candidate.
2) Kwena Maphaka is one of the players JSK might target in the SA20 2026 Auctions
CSK did not retain any South African bowlers before the auctions. Hence, this will be an area for them to work on. While he could be expensive, it will be beneficial to have a teenage talent like Maphaka on the side. He is an investment for the future and would do wonders with the new ball.
3) Matthew Breetzke
JSK might want to find a successor for Faf du Plessis at the top of the order. Although Breetzke is yet to get there, he can be a suitable option for the side. He would also provide wicket-keeping services, if needed.
