KKR will release Mustafizur Rahman as per the BCCI’s instruction before IPL 2026. Here, we take a look at the list of three players KKR could sign as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
KKR spent a lot of money on Fizz, considering his expertise in the death overs. However, the franchise will now make a compromise in selecting his replacement.
1) Richard Gleeson
The experienced English seamer has been doing well in the ongoing SA20. He has a lot of variations up his sleeve and could add variety to the attack. Yes, he is not a left-arm pacer but he is one of the best choices available on the market for KKR.
2) Fazalhaq Farooqi is one of the players KKR could sign as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman
The Afghan had a poor run for RR last season. However, if KKR insist on a left-arm pacer, he is more of a like-to-like replacement for Fizz. Therefore, he is on this list.
3) Spencer Johnson
Spencer spent his last season at KKR, but he could not leave an impact. Hence, he was released. While it is doubtful if KKR would go back for him, he would be a decent option as a backup. He can crank up raw pace and can be useful in the powerplay to pick crucial wickets.
