Sunrisers Eastern Cape made history by winning their second consecutive SA20 championship. The Sunrisers group, which also owns the Hyderabad franchise in the IPL, is the owner of the EC team in SA20 league. This team won the inaugural SA20 in 2023 and followed it up with a successful title defense in 2024.

On the other side, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team has not qualified for the IPL playoffs in the last three seasons. Notably, Aiden Markram, who is the captain of SEC is the skipper of the SRH team as well.

However, IPL is a tougher league, and perhaps, the Hyderabad-based franchise can think of recruiting some players from their sister team to increase their chances of winning. Here’s a list of three such players.

    1. Sunrisers Eastern Cape star Ottniel Baartman

Ottniel Baartman was the hero of the SEC team in SA20 2024. He was the season’s second highest wicket-taker with 18 scalps to his name. Most important, he picked up the wicket of the in-form Heinrich Klaasen in the SA20 Final, which shows that the right-arm pacer does not crumble under pressure.

    2. Tom Abell

Tom Abell was the third highest run-getter for the Eastern Cape team this season. He aggregated 286 runs in eight innings, with an average of 47.66 and a strike rate of more than 150. If given a chance on Indian tracks, Abell can win multiple matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team as well.

    3. Daniel Worrall

Another right-arm pacer to feature on the list is Daniel Worrall. The right-arm fast-medium pacer was the third-highest wicket-taker of SA20 2024. Worrall finished the season with 17 wickets in 11 matches. His economy rate was less than eight, which shows that the batters had a hard time playing against his pace.
