1) Trent Boult
If you take a look at Dravid’s selections, he does not prefer pacers who excel only in one phase of the game. Yes, there is an Impact Player rule in IPL but it is the first XI that usually wins a tournament in IPL irrespective of any other rules. In this regard, Boult may not be a priority for Dravid. At least, the overseas pacer must have some batting skills and hence, someone like Marco Jansen could be a target.
2) Yuzvendra Chahal might be a player Rahul Dravid could release

This was one of the reasons why India won the 2024 T20 World Cup. Hence, players like Axar Patel will get a lot of attention from Dravid. Also, Chahal’s form is declining. It won’t be a surprise if someone like Wanindu Hasaranga can join RR in IPL 2025.
3) Rovman Powell
In the lower middle-order, Dravid prefers a finisher who can also offer something with the ball. If not this, he needs a left-hander who can play spin well at No.4. Shimron Hetmyer is more of a No.6. Dravid would like someone like Shivam Dube or Nicholas Pooran. Therefore, Dravid could prefer a player in that mould for this role.
