Recently, BCCI selected the India A squads for the South Africa Tour. Here, we take a look at the list of three players selected in the India A squad but might go unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions.
Yes, these squads are meant for the longer format. However, as we have seen in recent times, some of the Test specialists also like to play in the IPL. In fact, for their respective states, they do play the T20 format. That said, they could go unsold for a variety of reasons.
1) Abhimanyu Easwaran
It is unfortunate that Abhimanyu Easwaran is yet to make his India debut. For the consistency that he has shown, his debut had to happen long ago. However, he missed out and since then, the West Bengal lad is yet to break into the India squad. Even now, he is a part of only the India A squad. Since he is a Test specialist, he does not have a lot of takers in IPL, as well.
2) Pradosh Ranjan Paul could be unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions
Pradosh Ranjan Paul is one of the players selected in the India A squad but might go unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Pradosh is a rising wicket-keeper batter. He is more inclined towards the longer format. Even for Tamil Nadu in T20s, he does not feature. For a wicket-keeper batter playing in the Indian A squad, usually, there would be demand. However, the 22-year-old is yet to prove his mettle in the format. Hence, he could go unsold.
3) Sourabh Kumar
The Uttar Pradesh lad was very close to making his India debut. However, it did not happen. Now, with the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel in the mix, it is hard for him to get a spot in the Indian Team. Nevertheless, for a good left-arm spinner who can also bat a bit, Sourabh should have ideally got some attention in IPL. Unfortunately, that has not happened. Since his recent T20 displays have also not been up to the mark, he might miss out on an IPL contract.
