SRH had a disappointing run in IPL 2025. With new signings like Ishan Kishan, they were expected to reach the playoffs. Nevertheless, they will look forward to the future. Here, we take a look at the list of three players SRH might retain, although they hardly played in IPL 2025.
SRH still has a strong core. Hence, the management and the fans must not be too disturbed by the performance in IPL 2025, because that could happen to any team.
1) Atharva Taide
Atharva got one game when Travis Head was not available. While he did not do well, it is too early to judge him, considering his talent. SRH will want to secure him for the future so that they can get the best out of his talent, which has a very high ceiling now.
2) SRH might retain Rahul Chahar after IPL 2025
It was a surprise that SRH did not use Rahul Chahar much. However, SRH must be wary that Zeeshan Ansari just had a breakout season. They need experience. Adam Zampa might not always be available. Hence, having Rahul in the side will add depth. A few other teams will want a spinner like him and hence, SRH may not be able to sign him back.
3) Smaran R (came in as a replacement and then ruled out)
Smaran came in as a replacement and was ruled out. It was unfortunate for him. It is not sure if he was fit for any of the games. Despite this, SRH must retain the cricketer. He is a solid talent and one for the future.
