India’s squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa has been announced. There are no major surprises. Here, we take a look at the list of three players unlucky to miss India’s squad for the South Africa Tests.
India’s Test squad: Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (WK) (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep.
1) Mohammed Shami
Shami has been doing well at the domestic level. Considering his experience, he deserved a chance to make a comeback. With the T20 World Cup not far away, India must not risk Bumrah. Hence, having Shami instead of Bumrah would have made sense.
2) Prasidh Krishna is one of the players unlucky to miss India’s squad for the South Africa Tests
Prasidh Krishna was a part of the last Test series at home. He did not get a chance in that game. Now, he has been replaced and that is surprising because in the last few Tests that he played for India against England, he was decent. Akash Deep is in the squad now.
3) Sarfaraz Khan
It is unfortunate for Sarfaraz to not get a chance in the side. He has done all the hard work at the domestic level. Yes, he was not good against New Zealand. However, he deserves a chance to make a comeback.
