Just a few days ago, Mumbai Indians disappointed the fans by naming Hardik Pandya as their new captain by sacking Rohit Sharma. However, it looks like MI need a new captain now, and here’s a list of three players who can replace the star all-rounder as the captain of MI for IPL 2024.
1. Suryakumar Yadav is likely to replace Hardik Pandya as MI captain for IPL 2024
Mr. 360 Suryakumar Yadav is the top candidate to become the new captain of the Mumbai Indians. Yadav skippered the Mumbai Indians in their home match against the Kolkata Knight Riders last season. Considering that he is the world’s best T20I batter right now and a local of Mumbai, MI will not mind naming him as the captain of the team.
2. Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah missed the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League because of injury, but he is expected to be back in the 2024 IPL season. Bumrah was probably unhappy when MI traded in Hardik Pandya and appointed him as the new captain.
The right-arm fast bowler has captained the Indian cricket team in Test and T20I format. Bumrah can make his captaincy debut in IPL soon.
3. Rohit Sharma
