As we are all hyped up about the IPL retentions, this can always be a great moment for us to take a walk down the memory lane and take a look at a few players who were pretty hyped up to go big in the history of the Indian Premier League and yet could only have a handful of games in their repertoire.

Here are three players who played just one IPL game in 2014 and never got a game again.

    #1 Srikant Anirudha

With a lot of promise in the domestic circuit, Srikant Anirudha, son of Kris Srikkanth, he was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings. Sadly enough, he could never cross double figures in terms of his seasonal tally. His best season came in 2011 where he scored 83 runs from five innings.

In IPL 2014, CSK decided to let him go and he was picked up by SRH. Much to their shock, he could only play one game and score three runs which proved to be his last game in IPL.

    #2 Dishant Yagnik

Dishant Yagnik started his domestic career on a high as he racked up 1754 runs from 83 innings in his first-class career. He also scored 945 runs from 41 List A matches. His numbers were promising enough for Rajasthan Royals to pick him up.

Sadly, all the promise in the domestic cricket could never really materialize in the IPL. His best season came in IPL 2013 where he scored 125 runs from nine innings. His last game came in IPL 2014 where he stayed unbeaten for four. However, that was the last time he would star in IPL.

    #3 Vikramjeet Malik

Vikramjeet made quite a few ripples in first class cricket with 308 wickets while also complementing the numbers with equally impressive numbers in List A cricket with 64 wickets. On the back of such impressive number Punjab Kings swooped him in but the numbers would barely make any sense. His last stint came in 2014 where he donned the threads of Rajasthan Royals and could only claim a wicket.
