Gujarat Titans are at the top of the standings right now with 16 points in their account. The Ahmedabad-based franchise are just one win away from sealing their place in the next round. Even the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians seem likely to make it to the playoffs.

This year, fans have witnessed a different trend in the league. Generally, players whose salaries are high, tend to receive more backing from the management. However, in the ongoing season, there are three players with salaries of more than 10 crore who have been dropped from their teams. Here’s a list of the three players.

    1. Ben Stokes has played only 2 matches for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023

Ben Stokes returned to the IPL this year. The Chennai Super Kings roped in the Test captain of England for a whopping amount of INR 16.25 crore at the mini auction in December. CSK handed Stokes his maiden yellow cap in the first match against the Gujarat Titans itself.

Stokes played two games, scoring 15 runs and bowling six balls. He got injured then. Stokes has recovered now, but the team management has kept him on the bench.

    2. Harry Brook has been dropped by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023

Sunrisers Hyderabad splurged INR 13.25 crore to sign England batter Harry Brook at the player auction. Brook has been quite inconsistent in the Indian Premier League so far. He did hit a hundred against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, but since he could not maintain consistency, he was dropped from the team.

    3. Wanindu Hasaranga

Royal Challengers Bangalore retained Wanindu Hasaranga for INR 10.75 crore before the IPL Auction. Hasaranga was a regular member in the RCB playing XI, but the team management dropped him for the match against Rajasthan Royals. Michael Bracewell replaced him in the team.
