1) Quinton de Kock will retire only from ODIs
Quinton de Kock announced his decision way before the World Cup started. Having already retired from Tests, QDK will also exit from the ODI side after the World Cup. Interestingly, he has been in stunning touch in the tournament. A quality cricketer, he has already hit a couple of centuries in the tournament. He might even end the tournament as the highest run-getter if his form continues.
2) Naveen-ul-Haq will retire only from ODIs after the 2023 ODI World Cup
Naveen-ul-Haq is one of the popular cricketers who will retire after the 2023 ODI World Cup. He is not even 25 and Naveen has already decided that he will not play ODIs anymore. It looks to be a strategic call considering he is in good demand in the global T20 leagues. That said, with Afghanistan likely to make it to the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, he might re-consider his decision.
3) David Willey will retire from all forms of the game
In a shocking development, David Willey announced that he would retire from international cricket after the World Cup. He was in decent form and he also had good age to play a few more years for the side. However, his decision is a follow up to him missing the central contract by ECB a few days ago. Willey might focus on T20 leagues after the World Cup.
