RCB had a strange strategy at the auctions. They hardly went hard for any cricketer. Here, we take a look at the list of three prominent cricketers RCB lost out on the final bid at IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
RCB was not prepared to go full throttle for any of their targets. It was more about whom the other teams left that RCB had to sign. This could have an impact on them in the next cycle.
1) Mitchell Starc
RCB was looking for a leader in the pace attack and Starc was well within their grasp. However, Delhi Capitals insisted on the signing. RCB had the purse and they could have afforded a few more bids. However, they did not and hence, DC signed the Aussie. Later, RCB signed Josh Hazlewood and hence, Starc was not missed.
2) David Miller could have been one of the RCB cricketers in IPL 2025
David Miller is one of the prominent cricketers RCB lost out on the final bid at IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Looking at the right-handed nature of the RCB batting unit, Miller could have added variety. RCB went hard for him at the beginning. However, they did not sign the South African cricketer. LSG will have him on the payroll for the next cycle.
3) Nitish Rana
There is a reason why we have Nitish Rana on the list here although RCB did miss some other famous cricketers in the final bid. At the position RCB were in, Rana was very much needed for the side at No.3 as the left-handed top-order cricketer. With his off-spin also, he would have added balance. Had RCB persisted with a few more bids, they could have signed the cricketer.
