As per reports, Yuvraj Singh is in contention to become the next Head Coach of Delhi Capitals. Here, we take a look at the list of three Punjab cricketers Yuvraj Singh might target if he becomes Head Coach of Delhi Capitals.
Yuvi is close to both Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. However, both these players are likely to be retained by their respective teams. Since Yuvi is close to the Punjab setup, he might target a few talented names or might even choose some of his older teammates.
1) Prabhsimran Singh
Jake Fraser-McGurk is likely to be one of the openers for DC. It will be interesting to see who DC picks as his partner. Prabhsimran will be a bold choice for the side. If it comes off, DC will have one of the strongest opening units for the next decade. Plus, the young Punjab opener will also be a backup for Pant behind the stumps.
2) Sandeep Sharma (now plays for Chandigarh)
Although he now plays for Chandigarh, Sandeep played for most of his career at Punjab. He has revived his IPL career at Rajasthan Royals. He is now a good option at the death, as well. Delhi needs some good Indian pacers. Therefore, Yuvraj can try and pick his old teammate from Punjab.
3) Nehal Wadhera might be a target for Yuvraj Singh if he is Head Coach of DC
Nehal Wadhera struggled to get games in IPL 2024. Nevertheless, he is a talented cricketer and will be in demand at the next auctions. Since DC needs a quality finisher, they can target someone like Nehal. He would be a good partner for Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel can then operate at No.5. He will also provide a right-arm leg-spin option.
