There are many players who come with the dream of playing Test cricket, but fulfilling everyone’s dream is not an easy task. Many players take full advantage of the opportunity they get and many players fail to capitalize on the opportunity they get after coming into the team. This is the reason that many times players in Test cricket are not able to carry their career long enough.

Many players in the Indian team went on a big journey after playing well in Test cricket but for some of them, their poor performances in the middle left them out of the team for a long time.

    Murali Vijay

Murali Vijay displayed a strong game for many years after making his debut and remained with the team till the 2018 tour of Australia. Murali Vijay was going through a bad phase at that time and he flopped in batting.

After that, he was shown the way out of the team. Murali Vijay scored nearly 4000 Test runs in 61 Test matches and scored 12 centuries. Karun Nair

When Karun Nair scored a triple century against England in Chennai, it seemed that Nair would play for long but it did not materialize. He got out of the team only after 6 Test matches. During this he scored 374 runs and 303 runs vs England was his highest score. Karun Nair is currently 30 years old but now it seems that he will not be returning back into the Indian team.

    Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan made his debut by scoring a century in the very first Test match of his career. For some time he played as an opener for the team and played well but was shown the way out after poor form during the 2018 tour of England.

In his career, he scored 2315 runs in 34 Tests and scored 7 centuries. Dhawan is 36 years old and there is no vacancy in the Test team for an opener and its unlikely for Dhawan to be part of the Test team, even though he is still a part of the ODI team.
