It is a mini-auction that will happen on December 19th. Hence, most teams will have specific targets for the day. Here, we take a look at the list of three teams that might not target a batter at the upcoming IPL 2024 Auctions.
Certain teams are constructed in such a way that they might want to target only a specific category of cricketers. We take a look at some of such franchises in the below headings:
1) Mumbai Indians
With Hardik Pandya getting back to MI, the batting line-up is solid. The team does not need batters but they will have to focus on overseas bowlers and spinners. One or two Indian names will also help the side. They do not have a big purse in this regard. Nevertheless, even if MI gets one or two of their targets, they would be in a good position.
2) Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB might be happy if they do not get a single batter at the auctions. The focus will be on the pace department and the spin department. With the arrival of Cameron Green, the batting unit is somewhat set. Also, RCB did not release a lot of batters. Even in the overseas area, Will Jacks is available as the backup. Therefore, the target for RCB will be pacers such as Shivam Mavi and Kartik Tyagi.
3) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG is one of the teams that might not target a batter at the upcoming IPL 2024 Auctions. Having hired Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan, LSG now has a plethora of batters. Although they have released some of their batters, their priority would be improving the fast-bowling attack, which is now without Avesh Khan. They would target someone like Shardul Thakur or Kartik Tyagi while they might also add one more spinner to the setup to better prepare for home conditions.
