1) Punjab Kings
The talented cricketer did well for the Punjab Kings. Many felt that they would use the RTM for him.
However, surprisingly, the franchise made a few bids for him. It was then clear that they could not spare the RTM for him. Punjab Kings could have considered retaining him before the auctions.
2) Royal Challengers Bengaluru wanted Ashutosh Sharma for IPL 2025
RCB is one of the teams which bid for Ashutosh Sharma in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions before DC signed him. The talented cricketer even attended the RCB trials before the Mega Auctions.
RCB was in for the cricketer until INR 1.5 Cr. However, they could not go further. Had he been in the squad, RCB‘s finishing department would have been stronger.
3) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals had a strong Indian batting core. Yet, they wanted someone like Ashutosh Sharma in the setup, as well. The move did make sense at that time.
Having an extra finisher would have helped RR play Dhruv Jurel higher up the order. Nevertheless, RR is anyways in a decent shape right now in the batting unit.
