As per reports, Mitchell Starc could be on his way out at the Delhi Capitals. The exact reason for the same is not known. Here, we take a look at the list of three teams which can target Mitchell Starc if the Delhi Capitals releases him.
Ideally, DC must have Starc in the squad. He is an experienced player and would lead the pace attack, a position where DC does not have many options.
1) Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR must target Starc because he adds balance to the side. KKR’s pace attack is too inexperienced, and for the same attack, Starc did well in IPL 2024 to help them win the trophy. Anrich Nortje and Spencer Johnson can be released if Starc is available on the market for KKR.
2) Rajasthan Royals can target Mitchell Starc if the Delhi Capitals releases him
RR’s combination allows them to play two foreign pacers. While Jofra Archer occupies one slot, they struggled to find his partner in IPL 2025. The team does not have great Indian options, too. Hence, Starc is a perfect fit for the side. He picks wickets with the new ball and he would form a serious combination with Jofra. Therefore, he is on this list.
3) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG does not have a leader in the pace attack. For this reason, targeting someone like Starc makes sense for the franchise. His experience will help Rishabh Pant in leading the side. Someone like Mohsin Khan would also benefit from this move.
