Not all teams will have a problem to fix in the upcoming IPL 2024 Auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could be party spoilers in IPL 2024 Auctions.
It is well-known that apart from getting their targets, the strategies of a few players would be to reduce the purse of the other teams. A few franchises could do exactly that at the bidding event.
1) Rajasthan Royals
RR has almost all the bases covered in the current squad. They would want to replace Devdutt Padikkal with a quality Indian batter while they might also target backups for Shimron Hetmyer and Trent Boult. All these targets might come at a cheap price. RR has very little funds but they could irritate a few other franchises by raising the bid for the players whom they might not buy eventually.
2) Sunrisers Hyderabad could be party spoilers in IPL 2024 Auctions
SRH is one of the teams which could be party spoilers in IPL 2024 Auctions. Like RR, even SRH has most of the bases covered. They would target a good overseas middle-order batter and some good backups. All of these are likely to come at a cheap price. SRH anyways has got a lot of money left in their purse. Hence, they could enter the bidding war for players like Mitchell Starc and Kartik Tyagi although they have no intention of buying them.
3) Punjab Kings
PBKS surprisingly did not have a lot of releases to make. They have to replace Shahrukh Khan with an Indian batter. They can do that easily with the money that they have. The team could also look at a spinner who can serve as the backup for Rahul Chahar. Apart from the team, PBKS looks decent on paper. Hence, they could play spoilsport for a few other teams in the hall.
