The English players are set to miss the playoffs of IPL 2025. There is a white-ball series against the West Indies. Here, we take a look at the list of three temporary replacements RCB can target for Jacob Bethell in the playoffs.
Jacob Bethell has had a good start to his career at RCB. While Liam Livingstone can replace him in the team, there would be other options that the franchise will also consider, so that there is sufficient depth.
1) Rilee Rossouw
Rilee Rossouw is an experienced T20 cricketer. He has been at RCB before. The left-handed cricketer is someone who can provide some quickfire runs, and in this regard, he could be of benefit to the side. He did well in a few games when he played for the Punjab Kings. In fact, one of his good games happened against RCB. Since he has experience, he would not need much time to get used to the demands of IPL.
2) Charith Asalanka can replace Jacob Bethell in the playoffs
The Sri Lankan is also on the radar of the Mumbai Indians. Nevertheless, RCB can also target the cricketer. Charith would be more of a middle-order option. The left-hander could operate at No.3, as well. He is not a brute hitter, but the team can rely on him in tough situations. Hence, he can be a worthy option as a backup. However, he has not played on big stages before, and the franchise could consider this.
3) Cooper Connolly
Again, he is also a young cricketer. Since teams cannot retain temporary replacements, RCB might not be too inclined towards this signing. However, it can be an audition so that they could target him for the next campaign. A young all-rounder, he has a high ceiling and can be of great value to any T20 side.
