Match No. 68 of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 will be massive because this game will decide which team will be the fourth in the playoffs. CSK has beaten RCB 21 times out of 32. However, RCB fans will hope that their team can continue the winning streak and win here. Notably, RCB need to win by 18 or more runs, or chase down the target in 18.1 or fewer overs. But it won’t be easy. However, here we will talk about three things that RCB need to do to beat CSK.

    3. Bat second & Target CSK’s New ball bowlers

The first thing RCB needs to do is bowl first. Though the toss might not be in their hands, if they win the toss, they should bowl first. Against SRH, they bowled first after winning the toss in Hyderabad. There are a couple of reasons behind it. First, the chasing team has a better record at Chinnaswamy. Secondly, there is a prediction of rain, and if the match gets reduced, chasing will be ideal because you will know what target you need to chase and in how many overs to improve the NRR. Furthermore, CSK will not have Pathirana, Mustafizur, or Deepak Chahar and will have an inexperienced pace attack. So they can target Tushar Deshpande and Simarjeet up front to put them under pressure.

    2. Bring Glenn Maxwell in and make him bat in the lower middle order

Will Jacks will not be available as he has flown back to England for his national duties. That will leave RCB with no choice, and Glenn Maxwell will make the way. This has been a horrible season for Maxwell, as he has only scored 36 runs at an average of 5.14. But RCB need him to fire. He has struggled at no. 3 or 4. Hence, RCB should try him at No. 5 and let Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green bat ahead of him. It will give Maxwell a chance to bat with a few overs left, and he can go after the bowlers without the fear of getting out. Adding to that, Patidar and Green have done well with the bat.

    1. Let Swapnil Singh bowl his full quota

RCB has used Swapnil Singh pretty smartly in this tournament. He has bowled in the powerplay mainly and given them wickets. But he hasn’t bowled his full quota of four overs in any game. RCB will have Maxwell and Karn Sharma, but Swapnil can be pretty good after the powerplay as well. He doesn’t rely on turn and bowls wicket-to-wicket, which makes it hard to hit him. If he is picking wickets in the powerplay, then he can also pick in the middle overs.
