The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League ended in favour of Kolkata Knight Riders. Shreyas Iyer and his team went on to win their third IPL title, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. However, it’s only been a few days since IPL 2024’s conclusion, but the talk for the next season has already started. Notably, the IPL 2024 will have a mega auction just like it had in 2022.
All ten teams will have the option to retain only four players, and the remaining players will go under the hammer. So that means every franchise will look to pick the big names for their teams who have done well for them. But some uncapped Indian players also did well in 2024. So here we will talk about three uncapped Indian players who might be retained in 2025.
1. Riyan Parag
The 24-year-old had a tremendous IPL 2024 season for Rajasthan Royals. He ended up scoring the third-most runs after Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Riyan scored 573 runs for RR, which was one of the reasons they did well in the tournament. He has played in a number of IPL seasons but hasn’t represented India yet. He is currently with RR for a price of INR 4 crore, and it won’t be a surprise if RR retain him in 2025.
2. Nitish Reddy
A seam-bowling all-rounder is rare in Indian cricket, but Nitish Reddy comes with such ability, which makes him a special player. He had a brilliant season, as he scored 303 runs at an average and strike rate of 33.66 and 142.92, respectively. He also bowled in some games and did well. He is a genuine all-rounder, and there are chances that SRH might retain him as he comes with a price of INR 20 lakh only.
3. Mayank Yadav
Every Indian fan was excited to see Mayank Yadav bowling thunderbolts in his first two games. The 24-year-old pacer from Delhi had limited chances, but he impressed everyone with the speed he was bowling at. He bowled the fastest ball of the IPL 2024 and took seven wickets in four games. An Indian pacer with the ability to bowl at over 150 is also rare. So it will not be a surprise if LSG retain him.
