Retaining an uncapped player before a Mega Auction gives a team a lot of benefits. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three uncapped players who could be retained before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
In the last mega-auction, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings both benefited by retaining Yashasvi Jaiswal and Arshdeep Singh as uncapped players. It could repeat before the next Mega Auctions, as well.
Note: This last has been done considering these players would remain uncapped until the Mega Auctions.
1) Riyan Parag
Rajasthan Royals have a habit of retaining uncapped players. Riyan Parag is unlikely to make his India debut until the end of this year because of India’s schedule. This could be an advantage for RR because they could then retain Riyan Parag at a low price. For the value he holds on his current form, he would surely command a big salary if he enters the auctions.
2) Suyash Sharma could be retained before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions
Suyash Sharma is one of the uncapped players who could be retained before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Before the last Mega Auction, KKR pulled off a few surprises by retaining the likes of Venkatesh Iyer and Varun CV. They could now retain Suyash Sharma because he has more value considering his age and credentials. Hence, Suyash is also on this list.
3) Abhishek Sharma
Before IPL 2022 Mega Auction, SRH retained Umran Malik and Abdul Samad as uncapped players. They could now release both and instead retain someone like Abhishek Sharma. He is with a high potential and is also a captaincy candidate for the future. Since he is an all-rounder, he would always bring great value to the side.
