Some teams might have a plan regarding the retention of uncapped cricketers. However, some of these cricketers might make their India debut in a few months. Therefore, the franchises will have to shell out some extra cash to retain them.

    1) Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana is sure to make his India debut in any of the three formats in the coming weeks. With that, KKR’s hopes of retaining him as an uncapped player will go away. KKR will want to retain a player of his profile. However, now, they need to play extra money to retain because he will be a capped player by the retention deadline. Hence, he is on this list.

    2) Yash Dayal’s upcoming India debut could spoil the plan for RCB

Yash Dayal was a surprise selection for the Bangladesh Test series. With so many Tests happening in the next few months, Yash Dayal could make his debut before the IPL retention deadline. Therefore, RCB may not be able to retain him as an uncapped player. If he still remains uncapped, RCB could retain him at a nominal fee along with Mohammed Siraj in the pace attack.

    3) Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav’s debut is one of the upcoming India debuts which could spoil the plans of a few IPL teams. It will not be a surprise if Mayank Yadav gets a chance for the Bangladesh T20I series. Of course, he needs to be fit. If that happens, LSG cannot retain him as an uncapped player. Retaining a capped player with a low sample size and a fitness issue will be hard for LSG.
