    Rohit Sharma is the skipper of the Mumbai-based franchise in the IPL. He has won the IPL championship five times in his career as a captain of MI. Sharma will now aim to win the ICC World Cup as a captain. He has been a part of the World Cup squad twice in the past. However, the Men in Blue lost in the semifinals of both tournaments which Rohit played before.

    2. Jos Buttler once played for MI in the IPL

    Before joining the Rajasthan Royals team, England’s white-ball skipper Jos Buttler was a member of the MI squad in the IPL. Buttler played for the Mumbai-based franchise in the years 2016 and 2017. The wicketkeeper batter will captain the England side in 2023 CWC.

    3. Pat Cummins was once in the MI squad

    Australian captain Pat Cummins joined the Mumbai-based franchise at the 2018 IPL Auction. Cummins was expected to be a long-term asset for MI, but he never played a match for the team because of injury issues. Cummins has been away from IPL since the end of 2022 season.
