The BCCI made a big announces yesterday evening. After Team India’s shocking 10-wicket defeat at the hands of England in the semifinals of T20 World Cup 2022, the board has decided to sack all the selectors. Chetan Sharma was the head of the selection panel, but he is not a part of the committee now.
The board issued a press release, urging former Indian cricketers to apply for the positions. However, there are some eligibility criteria which the applicants need to meet. The major ones are that they should not be more than 60 years old. They should have retired from cricket five years ago, and most importantly, they should have played minimum:
a) 7 Test matches; OR
b) 30 First Class matches; OR
c) 10 ODI and 20 First Class matches.

Aakash Chopra is a keen follower of Indian cricket, and he regularly analyzes the game of the top players. Since he has such an in-depth idea about how the things work, the popular commentator can apply for the job of the Indian team’s selector.
2. Nikhil Chopra
Another popular commentator to feature on the list is Nikhil Chopra. He is a 48-year-old retired cricketer, who played 61 first-class matches. Chopra works as a cricket expert for Star Sports and YouTube channels. He is eligible to apply for the post.
3. Murali Kartik
Murali Kartik is a member of the Star Sports English commentary panel. Kartik has been following Indian cricket for quite some time, and he has a good cricketing brain. Someone like him can be a fantastic choice as a selector.
4. Will Virender Sehwag become one of India’s selectors?
Virender Sehwag is another former Indian cricketer who regularly voices his opinions on different channels. Sehwag has a good cricketing brain as well. He has a ton of cricket experience, and on top of that, he has played a lot of cricket in different countries. So, he can be an asset in this committee.
