Mumbai Indians are one of the most popular cricket franchises in the world. The Mumbai-based IPL team have won five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 trophies, with many legendary players being a part of the team’s history. MI had a disastrous IPL 2022 season though where they finished last on the points table for the first time ever.
MI had a strong squad on paper, but due to injuries and poor form of senior players, Mumbai could not make it to the playoffs. The Mumbai Indians stars are either on national duty now or playing in other T20 leagues. Here’s a list of four Mumbai players who are a part of the ongoing Men’s Hundred 2022 competition.
1. MI all-rounder Kieron Pollard
All-rounder Kieron Pollard had a forgettable IPL season this year as he lost his place in the Mumbai Indians playing XI. Pollard has retired from international cricket. He will be keen to make it big for London Spirit in the Hundred.
2. Jofra Archer
Jofra Archer missed the entire IPL 2022 season because of an injury. He will likely make his MI debut in 2023. It looks like he will miss Men’s Hundred 2022 as well despite being a part of the defending champions, Southern Brave’s squad.
3. MI bowler Tymal Mills
Left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills could not perform his best while playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. He was ruled out of the season midway due to an injury. It will be interesting to see how Mills performs for Southern Brave in Men’s Hundred 2022.
4. Daniel Sams
Mumbai Indians all-rounder Daniel Sams was one of the match-winners for the team this season. Sams is a member of the Trent Rockets squad for the ongoing Hundred competition. The Hundred got underway last night with a match between Southern Brave and Welsh Fire.
