In the past, it was rare to see the batters taking the aerial route time and again. However, here’s a list of the four Indian batters who have accomplished the feat of smacking 10 sixes in an innings during a single innings of his international career.
1. MS Dhoni was the first Indian to hit 10 or more sixes in an innings
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni was the first Indian to achieve this unique record. Known for his big-hitting skills, Dhoni achieved the feat against Sri Lanka in an ODI match back in the year 2005. He scored 183 runs in that match hosted by Jaipur.
2. Rohit Sharma is the only Indian to hit 10 or more in multiple innings
Current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also accomplished the feat, but he is the only Indian to do it multiple times, having done it thrice. He finished with 10 or more maximums in ODIs against Australia and Sri Lanka in 2013 and 2017, where he scored a double ton. He also it did it in a T20I against Sri Lanka in 2017.
3. Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan joined this list in late 2022 when he hit a double hundred against Bangladesh. Kishan established himself as a game-changer by hitting 10 maximums in that ODI fixture.
4. Yashasvi Jaiswal
Current Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first player from the country to accomplish this feat in the Test format. He raced to a double ton in the second innings of the Rajkot Test against England recently and joined this club.
