It is pertinent to note that Raina will not be the first Indian to participate in this competition. Here’s a list of the four Indians who have played in LPL before.

    1. Irfan Pathan played in Lanka Premier League 2020

    Irfan Pathan, who won the T20 World Cup 2007 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013 with Team India, participated in the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League. The left-arm fast bowler played for Kandy Tuskers in LPL 2020, scoring 54 runs and scalping zero wickets in four matches.

    2. Munaf Patel played in Lanka Premier League 2020

    Kandy Tuskers signed 2011 World Cup winner Munaf Patel in the LPL 2020 season as well. Patel bagged three wickets in the four matches that he played for the Tuskers in that season.

    Another former Indian pace bowler to feature on this list is Manpreet Gony. The right-arm fast bowler announced retirement from international cricket early and then played in overseas leagues, including LPL. He represented Colombo Kings in LPL 2020, conceding 42 runs in the only game he played.

    4. Sudeep Tyagi

    Sudeep Tyagi represented Dambulla Viiking team in the first season of the LPL. Tyagi made his international debut for India after impressing for Chennai Super Kings, but he did not have a long career. He played three games in LPL and returned wicketless in all three games.
