    4 Indian players who were a one season wonder in IPL

    The Indian Premier League (IPL) was started in 2008. The introduction of IPL in India changed the way we watch cricket. Due to the IPL, the young players of India got the opportunity to play with the great players of the world. BCCI started IPL almost a decade back and their main objective was to give opportunities to new players. IPL gave a great platform to young players and because of this many players are playing for India today.

    Many Indian players used their experience to do well in IPL and then also lead India at international level. Although some players have also played in IPL, who performed tremendously for one year but then they could not do anything special.

    Swapnil Asnodkar

    Swapnil Asnodkar made a successful debut in the beginning of IPL 2008. The Goa player surprised everyone by opening the innings for Rajasthan Royals along with the experienced Graeme Smith. He scored 418 runs in IPL 2008 with an average of 59.71.

    In the first season of IPL, both the openers gave a great start to the Rajasthan Royals as they added 311 runs in 9 matches at an average of 34.55. However, Asnodkar could not repeat his performance for the next year. He proved to be a complete flop in 2009. In the 2009 IPL, he scored only 112 runs in 11 matches, due to which he was dropped from the team.

    Saurabh Tiwary

    Saurabh Tiwary of Jharkhand did a great job for Mumbai in IPL 2010. He scored 419 runs in 16 matches, which included 3 half-centuries. During this, his strike rate was 135.5.

    After that, Saurabh Tiwary was part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the next three years, but he failed to score runs. 2010 was his best IPL season but later he did not succeed.

    Srinath Aravind

    Srinath Aravind was part of the RCB team in the fourth season of IPL. He played 13 matches for Bangalore in 2012 and managed to take 21 wickets. He was the highest wicket-taker for Bangalore in the 2012 edition. Srinath Aravind’s name is also included in those players who performed well for one year and then failed completely. Bangalore had high hopes from him, but in the later seasons, he could not live up to those expectations.

    Kamran Khan

    Kamran Khan’s bowling action was similar to that of Lasith Malinga and this was the big secret of his success. He used to bowl consistently at a speed of more than 140 KMPH. He was widely renowned in the first season but after 2008, he could not get a chance to play much matches. He has also played one international match for India.
