Winning the T20 World Cup trophy is the dream of every cricketer who plays in the T20I format of cricket. The T20I format gained relevance in 2007 when the International Cricket Council launched the T20 World Cup.
India emerged as the inaugural champions of the tournament, and even in the latest edition of the mega event, the Men in Blue secured the championship. Rohit Sharma was the only common player in both 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cup wins.

1. Sanju Samson won T20 World Cup 2024 without playing any matches
Kerala-based wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson was selected in the Indian squad for the first time ever in a World Cup. While Samson did not get a chance to play in the competition, he got the golden opportunity to put his hands on the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy on Saturday.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal
Like Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal was selected in the Indian squad for a major ICC event for the first time in 2024 T20 World Cup. Jaiswal was expected to open the batting with Rohit Sharma, but he remained on the bench for all games. Still, he got to lift the trophy.
3. Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal had been a part of the Indian squads in the 2019 World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup, where India lost in semifinals. In 2024, he was picked once again, and this time, India ended up as champions of T20 World Cup.
4. Piyush Chawla won T20 World Cup 2007 without playing any matches
Piyush Chawla was the only member of the 2007 T20 World Cup team who did not play any games in the tournament. Chawla became the first cricketer in history to win the T20 WC title without playing any matches.
