    Cricket World Cup 2023 is almost upon us. The reverse countdown to the mega event has started as less than five months are left before the first ball of the mega event is bowled. This year’s World Cup tournament will happen in India.

    According to a report by Cricbuzz, the BCCI has finalized the Narendra Modi Stadium as the venue for the tournament’s final. Even the first match of the competition will take place at the world’s largest cricket stadium, with England taking on New Zealand.

    The complete list of venues is also out. Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi, Indore, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Rajkot, Raipur and Mumbai are the venues for the World Cup. All the aforementioned cities deserved to host the World Cup, but here’s a list of four such venues which were unlucky to miss out:

    1. Lucknow was in the previous list of Cricket World Cup 2023 venues

    Before Cricbuzz released the list today, there was another list which surfaced related to the venues for the mega event. Lucknow’s Bharat Ratna Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium was one of them. However, Lucknow’s name is surprisingly missing from the list which came out today.

    2. Mohali is absent from Cricket World Cup 2023 venues list

    Mohali’s PCA IS Bindra Stadium continues to remain absent from the list of World Cup venues. 12 years ago, this stadium hosted the semifinal game between the Indian cricket team and the Pakistan cricket team.

    3. Greenfield International Cricket Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram

    Thiruvananthapuram is home to some of the most passionate cricket fans in the world. The Greenfield International Cricket Stadium has hosted international matches in the recent past, but it has not been selected for the World Cup this year.

    4. MCA Stadium, Pune

    Pune has hosted multiple international games as well. It played host to the entertaining India vs. England series in 2021. However, the MCA Stadium has missed out on the rights to host World Cup.
