Legends League Cricket 2024 is currently underway in India. Four cities, namely Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu and Srinagar will host the matches, and the Jodhpur leg is underway right now. There are six teams in the tournament – India Capitals, Toyam Hyderabad, Gujarat Greats, Manipal Tigers, Southern Superstars and Konark Suryas Odisha.
As the name of the tournament suggests, the players who have retired from international cricket play in this league. Generally, fans would expect players around the age of 40 to play in Legends League Cricket, but here’s a list of four young players who gave up early after being dropped and ignored and are now playing in LLC 2024.
1. Pawan Negi is playing in Legends League Cricket
Eight years ago, Pawan Negi made his T20I debut for India. At that moment, it looked like India have finally found a solid backup for Ravindra Jadeja. Negi bowled left-arm spin and batted as a finisher. However, now, Negi has retired and is playing in LLC at the age of 31.
2. Monu Kumar is playing in Legends League Cricket
Monu Kumar played for India U-19s in 2014. Six years later, Kumar made his IPL debut for the Chennai Super Kings. However, now in 2024, Monu is playing for the Southern Superstars in LLC 2024.
3. Ishwar Pandey
Ishwar Pandey had enormous talent. The 35-year-old made it to India’s squad multiple times, and he even was a part of CSK, Pune Warriors and Rising Super Giant. However, now, he is playing for Gujarat Greats in LLC.
4. Barinder Sran
Like Pawan Negi, Barinder Sran started his international career in 2016. He did an impressive job for India in the limited opportunities he got, and he even emerged as a match-winner for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their title winning season in 2016. However, Sran is turning up for the India Capitals now.
