The TATA IPL 2024 has come to a conclusion, and Shreyas Iyer and his men became the 2024 champions. Kolkata Knight Riders have won their third title, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. The IPL 2024 was bigger than previous editions in terms of numbers and even price tag.
Mitchell Starc (INR 24.75 crore) and Pat Cummins (20.5 crore) did well as per their price tags. Both played well. Starc won MOTM awards in Qualifier 1 and the final, while Cummins led SRH well. Meanwhile, there were a few players who were with the team at a price of just INR 20 lakhs, but they did better than the expensive players from their teams. 1. Sai Sudharsan (20 lakh) – Gujarat Titans
Sai Sudharsan was the leading scorer for GT. He scored 527 runs at an average and strike rate of 47.90 and 141.28, respectively. He also scored one century and two half-centuries. He was the sixth-highest scorer overall. He is with GT for a price of INR 20 lakh only, but his efforts were more than anyone else.
2. Nitish Reddy (20 lakh) – Sunrisers Hyderabad
Nitish Reddy won the Emerging Player of the Season award in IPL 2024 with a cash amount of INR 10 lakh, which is half of his IPL salary. SRH bought him for INR 20 lakh, but his performance was better than many. He scored 303 runs with two half-centuries and also took 3 wickets with the ball.
3. Harshit Rana (20 lakh) – Kolkata Knight Riders
Mitchell Starc was bought for a price of INR 24.75 crore, and he is their highest paid IPL player. He ended up picking up 17 wickets at an economy rate of 10.61. However, Starc won MOTM in Qualifier 1 and final and repaid his price in a way. But then, there was Harshit Rana, whom KKR purchased for INR 20 lakh, and he ended up taking 19 wickets at an economy rate of 9.08. This performance will certainly increase his stock in the coming auction.
4. Jake Fraser McGurk (20 lakh) – Delhi Capitals
Last but not least is Jake Fraser McGurk, who certainly set the tournament on fire. The Australian youngster was unbelievable for Delhi Capitals. DC signed him for INR 20 lakh, and he showed a great attitude. McGurk scored 330 runs at a destructive strike rate of 234.04, with 28 sixes. He will surely get a good deal in IPL 2025 auction.
