ICC World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5 with a battle between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It seems unlikely that all the tickets for this 2:00 PM match will be sold out on a Thursday because the match does not involve home team India, and there are 132,000 seats in the world’s largest cricket stadium.
There will be 48 matches in the mega event, and India will play in only a maximum of 11 of them. Hence, it is highly unlikely that all the other matches will be sold out. But here’s a list of four such matches which have a considerable chance of being sold out in the group stage.
1. Pakistan vs Afghanistan will happen in Chennai in ICC World Cup 2023
Pakistan vs Afghanistan is the new rivalry of cricket which has been receiving a lot of attention from the fans. Whenever the two nations play against each other at the grand stage, fans witness close encounters. Also, Afghanistan and Pakistan are near to India, which is why their fans can make the trip to the cricket crazy city of Chennai to enjoy this World Cup game on October 23.
2. England vs. South Africa will happen in Mumbai in ICC World Cup 2023
England and South Africa entertained the fans at the Wankhede Stadium with a high-scoring thriller in the group stage of T20 World Cup 2016. Wankhede Stadium will host the battle between England and South Africa on a Saturday evening on October 21. It should not be a surprise if the stadium is housefull.
3. Bangladesh vs. Pakistan, Kolkata
Bangladesh and Pakistan have also had an exciting rivalry in recent years, and their fans should fill up the seats at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata when the two teams meet on October 31.
4. Australia vs. England, Ahmedabad
The oldest rivalry of cricket will take the stage in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, November 4. It will be challenging but not a surprise if all the seats are full on that Saturday evening at the world’s largest cricket stadium.
