IPL 2024 will be one of the biggest tournaments in the cricket world. The entire cricket universe is eagerly waiting for this year’s Indian Premier League. However, the schedule for the league has not come out yet because of the general elections.

The Lok Sabha elections will happen in India this year, and like 2019, BCCI will have to plan well so that the matches happen with proper security. Here’s what a report from Cricbuzz stated:

“The BCCI is still in the dark over the dates and venues of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The programme is totally conditional to the schedule of the General Elections which are expected in the summer. There is a likelihood that the IPL too may see a caravan model.”

There might be a need for new venues this year, and here’s a list of four new venues that the BCCI can explore for IPL 2024 matches.

    1. Mullanpur Cricket Stadium might make debut in IPL 2024

According to media reports, Punjab Kings are thinking to shift their base away from the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. They are now thinking to play their matches at the newly-built Mullanpur Cricket Stadium. Hence, this venue can make debut in the 2024 season.

    2. Greenfield International Stadium should make debut in IPL 2024

Thiruvananthapuram has a great stadium, named the Greenfield International Stadium. This venue has hosted warm-up matches of the 2023 ODI World Cup. The Indian team has also played a few international games here. Perhaps, Rajasthan Royals can play their matches on this ground.

    3. New stadium in Baroda

It is difficult to sell out the colossal Narendra Modi Stadium for all home matches of a team. Gujarat Titans can think of playing a couple of their home matches at the new stadium in Baroda, which will likely be ready to host matches soon. It will reportedly have a capacity of around 50,000.
