IPL is the biggest T20 league in the world, where players from across the planet assemble to battle against each other. Since the Indian Premier League allows the franchises to sign both Indian and foreign players, there have been some instances where a few players who had a fight with each other in the past were forced to play together for the same team.
Luckily, almost all of them managed to forget their past and performed their best for their teams. Here’s a list of four such pairs of cricketers.
1. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya, IPL 2022
In the 2020/21 domestic season, reports emerged claiming that Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya had a big argument during the Baroda team’s camp. Hooda was even suspended by Baroda Cricket Association. However, both Hooda and Pandya played together as friends for Lucknow Super Giants earlier this year.
2. Mitchell McClenaghan and Rohit Sharma, IPL 2015 to 2019
Mitchell McCelnaghan sledged Rohit Sharma when India visited New Zealand for an ODI series in 2014. However, they forgot their past and played together to help Mumbai Indians become champions in multiple editions of the league.
3. Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds
No cricket fan can forget what happened between Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds during India’s Australia tour in 2007/08. However, both players forgot what happened on that tour and made a fresh start to their friendship when playing for Mumbai Indians.
4. Jos Buttler and R Ashwin
A major controversy happened in the cricket universe when R Ashwin ran Jos Buttler out at the non-striker’s end during an IPL match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. However, in 2022, Ashwin and Buttler played together for the Royals. They even made it to the Final.
