Dinesh Karthik is one of them. He has been playing in the tournament since 2008 and has played for six different teams. However, DK made his India debut in September 2004 against England in an ODI. But you will be surprised to know that there are some players in the IPL 2024 who were not even born when DK made his international debut.

The young sensation of Kolkata Knight Riders, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, caught the attention of everyone when he smashed a brilliant fifty on his debut against DC. He scored a quick 54 and has scored 85 runs so far in three innings at a strike rate of 166.66. He was born on June 5, 2005, nine months after DK made his international debut.

The young leg-spinner from Afghanistan is not new to the IPL. In fact, he made his IPL debut in 2023 for Gujarat Titans and was one of the best bowlers for the team. He is also part of the same team in the ongoing season and is doing pretty well for them. Noor was born on 3rd January, 2005, a few months after DK’s India debut. The leg-spinner has already played 17 games and taken 19 IPL wickets.

Kumar Kushagra caught the attention of everyone when he was picked up by Delhi Capitals at the IPL 2024 auction. The wicket-keeper batter is known for his powerhitting and has had good domestic numbers. He made his IPL debut against MI on April 7 but didn’t get a chance to bat. He was born on October 23, 2004, a month after DK’s debut.

The South African teenager Kwena Maphaka is one of the youngest cricketers in the IPL 2024. He was picked for the tournament after his Player of the Tournament performances in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024. But it hasn’t been a great debut for him; he conceded 67 runs in his first game. He was born on April 8, 2006, almost one and a half years after Dinesh Karthik played his first game for India.
