However, the KTK franchise did not have a long stint in the league. They played only one season, which was their debut season.

    In that tournament, the Kerala-based franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs and then they were terminated from the league owing to some off-field reasons. Several big names of the cricket world like Mahela Jayawardene, VVS Laxman, Parthiv Patel, RP Singh, Sreesanth, Muttiah Muralitharan and Steve Smith were a part of that franchise.

    Brendon McCullum had multiple stints with the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. He played for them from 2008 to 2010 before joining KTK in 2011. In 2012, when KTK was removed from the tournament, McCullum rejoined the Kolkata Knight Riders.

    2. Brad Hodge

    Former Australian all-rounder Brad Hodge also played for KTK and KKR in his IPL career. He was one of the top finishers during his prime. Hodge played 14 matches for the Kochi-based franchise, scoring 285 runs.

    3. R Vinay Kumar

    Former Indian fast bowler R Vinay Kumar was the only Indian to have represented both Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Kolkata Knight Riders in his IPL career. Kumar has now retired and works as a bowling coach for MI Emirates.

    4. Owais Shah played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Kolkata Knight Riders

    Former England batter Owais Shah excelled in white-ball cricket during his playing days. Shah played for KTK in 2011 and also had a brief stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders during his career.
