The 2024 T20 World Cup is the biggest cricketing event right now. However, there is also one more tournament that is happening. Here, we take a look at the list of four players who should have been in the 2024 T20 WC but are playing in Vitality Blast.
Vitality Blast is the local T20 tournament in England. It has some of the big names who are not featuring in the ongoing T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.
1) Sikandar Raza
Sikandar Raza is one of the players who should have been in the 2024 T20 WC but is playing in Vitality Blast. He is one of the highest-ranked all-rounders by ICC in the T20 format. However, since Zimbabwe could not qualify for the event, Raza is plying his trade elsewhere. Or else, he could have even captained his side in the ICC event.
2) Shan Masood is playing in Vitality Blast 2024
Shan Masood was not in the fray for the Pakistan Team in the T20 format. That said, seeing the conditions in USA, Shan Masood would have been ideal to have in the batting order for Pakistan. He is technically good and could have been the left-hander to accumulate runs for them.
3) Roelof van der Merwe
Roelof van der Merwe is one of the players who should have been in the 2024 T20 WC but are playing in Vitality Blast. A veteran of this format, Roelof could not make himself available for the T20 World Cup because of his county assignments. Hence, he is absent from the squad.
4) Colin Ackermann is playing in Vitality Blast 2024
An all-rounder of his experience would have been of great use to the Dutch squad. However, for Colin, the primary employers are the County Teams and hence, he is playing for them. The Netherlands would have benefited a lot from his presence in the middle order.
