While a majority of the star players of world cricket represent IPL teams, there are some names who were rejected by the teams and went unsold at IPL Auctions, but they did not give up. In recent years, some unsold players of IPL also ended up producing game-changing performances against the Indian cricket team. Here’s a list of four such players.

    1. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was once ignored by IPL teams

Not many fans would know that Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz was a part of the auction back in the year 2017. However, not a single team bid for him. In the ongoing series between Bangladesh and India, Miraz has been the hero for the home side and the reason why they have a 1-0 lead.

    2. Ish Sodhi has not earned contract from any IPL teams in recent past

Ish Sodhi has gone unsold many times in IPL Auctions. The New Zealand leg-spinner has a great record in T20Is against India though as he has taken 22 wickets against the Men in Blue. Also, he played a main role in the Blackcaps’ win over India in 2016 T20 World Cup and 2021 T20 WC.

    3. Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lanka’s T20I captain Dasun Shanaka has been ignored in the IPL as well. He has failed to earn a contract even once. Earlier this year, in Asia Cup 2022, Shanaka bowled a spell of 2/26 and scored 33 runs from just 18 balls to knock India out of the tournament in the Super 4s.

    4. Mushfiqur Rahim

Mushfiqur Rahim has always gone unsold at the auction as none of the IPL teams have ever shown interest in him. Not many fans would remember that Rahim was the Man of the Match in Bangladesh’s maiden T20I win against India in 2019. He scored 60 runs off 43 balls in that game. Also, Rahim a fifty in the 2007 World Cup match against India.
