1. Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar had same number of 200s in ODIs and Tests
Sehwag and Sachin were the first two batters to score a double century in the ODI format of cricket. They finished their careers with one ODI double century and six double hundreds in Test cricket.
2. Started and ended career against same team
Pakistan was the favorite opponent of both Sehwag and Sachin. It is pertinent to note that the two players made their respective ODIs debut against Pakistan and signed off from the 50-over format after a game against Pakistan as well.
3. Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar won 5 Man of the Series awards in Test cricket
The two former Indian cricket team opener also won the same number of Man of the Series awards during their legendary careers. They won five Man of the Series awards each in Test cricket.
4. Both scored 12 runs in their first IPL match
Sehwag captained the Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. He scored 12 runs in his first appearance for DD. Similarly, Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar scored 12 runs on his IPL debut as well.
