There have been multiple cities in IPL history, who have been home to more than one franchise due to one or the other season. Maharashtra’s city Pune was home to the Rising Pune Supergiant and the Pune Warriors teams, whereas Delhi has had Delhi Daredevils team, which was later rebranded as Delhi Capitals. Similarly, the Deccan Chargers had the city of Hyderabad as their base from 2008 to 2012 before the Sunrisers Hyderabad replaced them.

While there have been many common players in Delhi Capitals and Delhi Daredevils as well as Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad, here’s a list of two such players who played for all the four teams in the IPL.

    1. Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Shikhar Dhawan

Current Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan was once the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team as well. In fact, Dhawan started his career with the Delhi Daredevils team in 2008. He later moved to the Mumbai Indians in the trading window, before joining the Deccan Chargers team.

DC exited in 2012, and in came the Sunrisers. SRH retained Dhawan and kept him in the squad until the 2019 season. In 2019, SRH traded him to the Delhi Capitals. He remained with DC from 2019 to 2021. In 2022, the Punjab Kings signed him.

    2. Amit Mishra

The only other player who has played for all four aforementioned franchises is leg-spinner Amit Mishra. The veteran spinner started his journey with the Delhi Daredevils in the year 2008. After that, he moved to the Deccan Chargers, and then the Sunrisers retained him after DC’s exit.

Mishra returned to the Delhi Daredevils after a stint with Hyderabad. In 2019, the franchise rebranded itself as the Delhi Capitals and retained Mishra until the 2021 season. Right now, in IPL 2023, Mishra is playing for the Lucknow Super Giants team.
