IPL 2025 Mega Auction is done and dusted. The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League will see 10 new-look teams competing against each other for the coveted championship. Unlike the previous auction, fast bowlers did not fetch big bids this time as a batter, an all-rounder and a wicketkeeper featured in the Top 3 most expensive picks.
Interestingly, several talented fast bowlers remained unsold as well. Mitchell Starc’s salary went down from 24.75 crore to 11.75 crore, while Sam Curran’s salary has gone down from 18.5 crore to 2.4 crore. Starc and Curran still have IPL deals, but the following five fast bowlers remained unsold and can only return as replacements if the teams need them.
1. Sandeep Warrier may return to IPL 2025 as a replacement
Sandeep Warrier has a habit of getting unsold at the auction and then receiving a deal as a replacement. Having played for Gujarat Titans and MI recently, Warrier should be in demand as a replacement.
2. Shivam Mavi may return to IPL 2025 as a replacement
Shivam Mavi was a great talent at the U-19 level, and he even made his debut for the Indian team at the senior level in 2023. However, just a year later, Mavi finds himself without an IPL deal, waiting for a replacement contract.
3. Shardul Thakur
It was quite unbelievable to see zero bids for Shardul Thakur, who was earning 10.75 crore per season in 2022 and 2023. Thakur deserves an IPL deal for his extraordinary talent as a pace-bowling all-rounder.
4. Chetan Sakariya
Another capped Indian pacer to appear on this list is Chetan Sakariya. Being a left-arm pacer, Sakariya should be in demand as a replacement if a team needs an Indian fast bowling option.
5. Alzarri Joseph
From earning 12.5 crore in 2024 to going unsold in 2025, Alzarri Joseph’s downfall has been unreal. He is still a worthy fast bowler in T20 cricket, and he would not be a bad choice as a replacement.
