ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will take place in USA and West Indies this June. The schedule for the mega event came out yesterday on a special show organized by the broadcasters, Star Sports. The first match of the competition will happen on June 1 between home team USA and neighbors Canada.
Many fans would have an idea that several discarded players of top-ranked nations have moved to USA. Some of the former IPL stars are also in the United States now, and the following five names could turn up for team USA in T20 World Cup 2024.
1. Rusty Theron may play for USA in T20 World Cup 2024
Former South African fast bowler Rusty Theron moved to USA a few years ago. He has already made his international debut for America. Theron played for Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings and Deccan Chargers in IPL.
2. Corey Anderson might play for USA in T20 World Cup 2024
Corey Anderson was one of the most destructive all-rounders in the world during his prime. Mumbai Indians fans will always remember him for his 95-run knock against the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2014.
3. Unmukt Chand
Another former Mumbai Indians cricketer to feature on the list is Unmukt Chand. He played for Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals as well. Chand is best known for leading India to the ICC U-19 World Cup 2012 title.
4. Bipul Sharma
Bipul Sharma starred for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2016 championship win. The left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder recently moved to USA and could play for the home side in T20 WC 2024.
5. Liam Plunkett
2019 World Cup-winning player Liam Plunkett has quit England and settled in the USA. He has played league cricket in the USA, and the former Delhi Capitals star is in line to play the T20 WC as well.
