Indian cricketers have to compete a lot against each other to grab a place in the playing XI. The competition is at the next level because of the immense talent present in the country. Only 15 players make it to the World Cup squad, and only 11 of them make it to the playing XI.

The selectors have to make very difficult decisions as they have to even leave out some good talents who showed intent due to better performance from other players. Here’s a list of five players who showed intent in T20Is but got dropped unluckily.

    1. One of the upcoming Indian cricketers – Jitesh Sharma

In the ongoing third T20I between India and Afghanistan, Jitesh Sharma has been dropped from the playing XI. Sanju Samson has received a chance to play even though Jitesh did so well in recent T20Is.

    2. One of the former Indian cricketers – Subramanian Badrinath

S Badrinath had a rare international career in T20. He played one match, won Man of the Match against West Indies and got dropped. He never played for India in T20Is again.

    3. Sanju Samson

While Sanju Samson has received a chance in Jitesh Sharma’s place tonight, there have been many occasions when Sanju was dropped from the playing XI unluckily in the past.

    4. Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi showed a lot of intent while playing for India in the home T20Is of 2023. Still, the selectors ignored him for the subsequent series.

    5. Shivam Mavi

Like Rahul Tripathi, Shivam Mavi played in home T20Is for India in early 2023. He even bagged a four-wicket haul on debut, but for some reason, he has not played any T20Is since February 2023.
