    5 Indian stadiums which neither got World Cup match nor Team India’s home match in 2023/24 season

    Indian stadiums will host some high-profile matches in the year 2023. The Cricket World Cup will take place in India later this year. After the mega event ends, India will host Australia, Afghanistan and England at home. Australia will play three ODIs before the Cricket World Cup and five T20Is after the mega event. Afghanistan will visit India for three T20Is in early 2024, while England will tour India for five Test matches.

    BCCI shortlisted 10 Indian stadiums to host the Cricket World Cup in 2023. Several state associations were unhappy after being ignored for the mega event, but BCCI has tried their best to balance it out by giving them bilateral series matches.

    Still, the following five international stadiums of India will not host a single game in the 2023/24 season.

    1. One of the biggest Indian stadiums – Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur

    Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium hosted its first-ever international fixture earlier this year between India and New Zealand. India won that match by eight wickets. The stadium has a capacity of 65,000, but it did not get a World Cup or bilateral match in 2023/24.

    2. One of the well-known Indian stadiums – Barabati Stadium, Cuttack

    Barabati Stadium has hosted multiple international as well as IPL matches in the past. However, the stadium in Cuttack has not received hosting rights for any matches in 2023/24.

    3. Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur

    Not a single match of World Cup or bilateral cricket will happen in the state of Rajasthan. The state is home to the historic Sawai Mansingh Stadium of Jaipur. However, BCCI has not allotted any matches to them.

    4. Green Park, Kanpur

    Kanpur played host to the first Test of the India vs New Zealand series in 2021. However, in 2023/24, the venue, which was once the home of the Gujarat Lions, will not host any matches.

    5. Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Dehradun

    Dehradun has previously been the adopted home ground of Afghanistan. Many fans expected BCCI to allot a match to Dehradun when Afghanistan play against India. However, the same has not happened.
